Mission Statement: I am a producer & storyteller from Toronto, Canada, who wants to positively impact the world by creating fiction and documentary films that fuel hopeful change and inspire others of all ages, backgrounds, and beliefs.

Full Biography: Stephanie "Sherlock" de Bem graduated from the Image Arts: Film Studies program at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU; formerly Ryerson U) in Toronto, Canada in 2019. She specializes in producing, production managing/coordinating, and locations managing. Upon graduating, Stephanie has freelanced for several Toronto production companies including Compy Films, Storyline Entertainment, Scarborough Pictures, Visitor Media, and Great Pacific Media. Projects for these companies have included the Best Picture CSA-winning Scarborough, Lido TV (TIFF 2022), several thought-provoking documentaries, and a variety of web series. She is grateful to be a part of such amazing teams and to tell wonderful stories that both entertain and spark dialogue. Check out her New and Upcoming page to see more projects!

Stephanie’s producing work includes her short films: Your Mileage May Vary, which was aired on the CBC in August 2018, won Stephanie a Gracie Award presented by the Alliance for Women in Media, and screened at twelve film festivals (winning three awards, including “Best Short Film” at the Global Shorts Film Festival and an “Industry Choice Award” at the Toronto Youth Shorts Film Festival); Fish Out of Water, which won "People's Choice Award- Night 1" and "Best Child Performance" at the Toronto Metropolitan University Film Festival, “Best Student Short” at the Jersey Shore Film Festival, and a Joey Award for the lead actor- it has screened at eleven festivals to date; The Next Right, a film also screened at TMUFF to great audience review and screened at three other fests, and Not Just For The Nerds, a doc close to her heart which went on to screen at the Toronto Shorts Film Festival.

Steph became a member of the Academy Of Canadian Cinema & Television after being awarded a membership through Toronto Metropolitan University and Boat Rocker Media's partnership program which awards promising film students opportunities in the entertainment industry. She won the Woman in Film Award sponsored by WIFT-T at TMUFF 2019 for her work during her thesis year. She has also won four film-related scholarships while attending TMU: the Universal Studios Scholarship in Filmmaking (2018), the HSBC Best 4th Year Producer (2019), and two Norman Jewison Filmmaker Awards (2018 & 2019).

Stephanie’s experiences with theatre include work both on and off stage. She made her directorial debut with her high school's production of High School Musical, which she also produced. Other work with her high school includes being the Co-President of the Drama Club for three years and acting in several productions (her favourite being "The Detective" in Clue). She's also worked on local productions outside of high school, including Camp Rock: The Musical, Alice in Wonderland, and The Lion King.

Outside of working on films and the stage, Stephanie loves working for festivals and events. She’s volunteered with the Toronto Metropolitan University Film Festival for four years and was the 2019 festival’s Co-Chair. She has also volunteered for Fan Expo Canada (Captain of the Photo-Ops Lines Department for 3 years), TIFF, Buffer Festival, and the Scarborough Worldwide Film Festival. Steph guest-starred on the podcast, Unmotivated, and published both a poem and a short story for publications in her hometown of Vaughan.
